Our school is dedicated to preparing students for productive, fulfilling lives in a Democratic society. We believe that they will need the skills of literacy, numeracy, tolerance and adaptability to take their place in the future as artists, inventors, performers, writers, scholars and trades people. Furthermore, they will need strength of character as they face difficult personal and ethical challenges; a respect for themselves and others; curiosity and confidence; purposeful imagination; good habits of work and mind.  Our fondest hope is that their opportunities in elementary school prepare them well in all of the academic, social, emotional, physical and artistic areas while allowing for a sensibly paced transition from childhood to adulthood.
